These tiny moths thrive in warm, humid environments and feed on a variety of household materials, making them a potential nuisance, especially during summer months.
Interestingly, kamitetep are more noticeable in their larval stage than as adults. The larvae carry gray, flat, cocoon-like cases that act as camouflage and protection. These cases also serve as pupal shelters, blending seamlessly into walls, ceilings, and even garden beds — making early detection tricky.
