Big Sister Bridget’s Sweet Welcome: A Song for Baby George

Big sister Bridget Blake, now two years old, embraced her new role right away. Vaughn recalled a tender hospital moment when Bridget leaned over her baby brother and sang Happy Birthday—completely unprompted. “She just knew it was his special day too,” Vaughn shared.

Bridget’s arrival back in February 2023 had already reshaped the Doocy family dynamic, a moment Peter has often described as life-changing. Watching his parents, longtime Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy and wife Kathy, meet their granddaughter for the first time was, in his words, “one of the most special moments of my life.” Now, with George’s arrival, those generational bonds have only deepened.

Parenthood, the couple admits, is equal parts joy and challenge. Vaughn has joked about the unpredictable chaos of being a “boy mom,” while Peter says the daily whirlwind is what makes life feel whole. “I’ll come home from the White House and Bridget’s tugging on my sleeve, George is crying, Hillary’s smiling at me—it’s the kind of noise you never want to live without,” he said.

Steve Doocy, meanwhile, has embraced his role as grandfather with trademark humor. “Being a grandfather is the best promotion I’ve ever had,” he quipped when Bridget was born. With George, that joy has doubled.

For Peter and Hillary, their anniversary will forever carry extra meaning. Vaughn calls George’s birth “the hardest and best anniversary gift we could have ever given each other.” As the couple settles into life with two little ones, they’re learning to embrace sleepless nights, sibling giggles, and the messy, beautiful chaos of family.

Or as Peter put it with a grin: “Covering politics keeps me on my toes. But honestly? Parenthood is tougher — and so much better.”
