Teen Flipping Burgers in Graduation Gown Inspires $230,000 for College

Just hours after walking across the stage to receive his high school diploma, Mykale Baker was back at Burger King — flipping burgers, bagging fries, and helping his team handle the evening rush. Still wearing his graduation stole and medals, the teen skipped celebrations to put hustle over hype — inspiring strangers to donate over $230,000 to support his future.

On May 21, in Georgia, Mykale celebrated his graduation from Mills Creek High School with a Whopper alongside his mother and grandmother. While many classmates were partying, the 18-year-old noticed the busy Burger King and jumped in to help, unaware that his act of dedication was about to go viral.

A fellow mom, Maria Mendoza, who witnessed his quiet commitment, captured a clip of Mykale at work and shared it on TikTok. She was moved by his humility and dedication, describing him as “radiating joy” even after such a big day. Within days, the video had over 4.5 million views, showing the world what determination and selflessness truly look like.
