Bruce Springsteen has spent decades singing about grit and resilience — and now his youngest son, Sam, is living it firsthand.
On Tuesday, 26-year-old Sam Springsteen was officially sworn in as a Jersey City firefighter. Proud parents Bruce and Patti Scialfa cheered from the front row as he joined 14 others in his graduating class, bringing the Jersey City Fire Department to 666 uniformed members.
“It was a long road, he’s very dedicated, quite a few years, and we are just excited for him today,” Bruce told CBS New York.
Before reaching this milestone, Sam had trained at the Monmouth County Fire Academy and volunteered at three different fire stations. The journey wasn’t easy, but it was driven by dedication, hard work, and a dream realized.
