The Husband’s Confession — “She Cried Because of Me”

The yard fell silent as Louis knelt in the rain, his voice breaking with every word.

“She found out I had someone else,” he confessed. “I told her it was over… I swore it meant nothing. But that night, she didn’t say a word. She just cried quietly — holding her stomach. Then the pain began…”

He couldn’t continue. The truth had torn him apart.

“I was the one who broke her,” he choked. “And now, I can’t take it back.”

The rain poured harder, masking his sobs. Mrs. Helen covered her mouth, trembling. Every mourner stood frozen, hearts heavy with disbelief.

Louis pressed his forehead against the coffin. “Elena… I’m sorry. If you can hear me, please forgive me. Let me carry you now — one last time.”

And then, before their eyes — the coffin shifted.
Just slightly… but enough for everyone to see.

The shaman nodded. “She’s at peace now.”

The men stepped forward once more — and this time, the coffin lifted easily, as if the weight had vanished. The trumpets sounded again, guiding Elena on her final journey.

Louis stayed kneeling in the mud, his tears mixing with the rain. His mother touched his shoulder, but he couldn’t move. His heart was buried with the woman he had hurt — and the love he could never repair.

There are wounds that never heal, and words that echo forever.

As the sky cleared and the final note faded, only one truth remained:

Love demands honesty, before it’s too late.
