Apparently, My Wife Wasn’t ‘Pretty Enough’ To Work In a Store — So I Came Back With the Perfect Revenge

When my wife, Emma, came home in tears, my heart sank. All she had done was apply for a job at a lingerie shop in the mall. But instead of a fair chance, a sales assistant sneered at her and said: “Look, sweetie, you’re not attractive enough for this job. NO chance. Don’t even try.”

Emma was crushed. Seeing her cry broke me — and anger took over. Nobody, and I mean nobody, gets to treat my wife like that.

A few days later, I put my plan into motion. With help from my friend Mike — who works in the fashion industry — we set up a little “lesson in humility” for the rude assistant.

I went back to the shop, pretending to shop for lingerie for Emma. Suddenly, the assistant’s attitude changed — all smiles and sweet talk as she showed me item after item. That’s when Mike walked in, introduced himself as a talent scout, and hinted he was looking for someone with a unique look for an upcoming campaign.

The assistant’s eyes lit up — she thought this was her big break. But then Mike shook his head and said, “Sorry, you don’t really fit what we’re looking for.” Her jaw nearly hit the floor.

Then, in front of her, Mike turned to me and asked, “What about you? Or maybe someone you know?”

Smiling, I said: “Yes. My wife, Emma. She’s beautiful inside and out — full of confidence, grace, and real style. She’s the one you should meet.”

The assistant froze, pale as a ghost. She had no idea what to say.

Later, Emma met with Mike — not because she wanted to model, but because she deserved to hear from a professional that she was good enough. She walked away glowing with confidence, her faith in herself restored.

And that’s when I realized — the best revenge isn’t just teaching someone a lesson. It’s reminding the person you love of their true worth.

Emma and I passed that shop a week later. The same assistant stood there, looking shaken and small. Emma just laughed, squeezed my hand, and said: “I could live without that store forever.”Sometimes, the sweetest revenge is lifting up the person you love higher than the world ever could. ❤️
