Authorities said Reiner was arrested late Sunday and is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Jail without bail. Initial booking records briefly listed bail at $4 million before being updated, police said.
Officers responded Sunday afternoon to the couple’s home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, where they discovered the bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner. Two people familiar with the investigation, who were not authorized to speak publicly, said the couple had been stabbed.

Police officials said the case is expected to be presented Tuesday to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as prosecutors review potential charges. As of Monday, no formal criminal charges had been announced.
Rob Reiner, 78, rose to fame as a sitcom actor before becoming one of Hollywood’s most recognizable directors, with films including This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally…, and The Princess Bride. In later years, he became an influential political voice, particularly in Democratic causes. Michele Reiner, 70, worked as a photographer before moving into film production.
