The “Deadpool Killer” Reappears

Wade Wilson, infamously nicknamed the “Deadpool Killer” for sharing a name with the Marvel antihero, looks almost unrecognizable in new images from behind bars. Once a clean-cut, sharply dressed figure who appeared in court with styled hair and makeup to conceal his tattoos, Wilson’s transformation is startling. In the recently released prison photos, he appears bloated, disheveled, and visibly deteriorated. The skeletal Joker-style tattoo stretching across his mouth remains—a haunting reminder of who he was.

Now 31, Wilson was sentenced to death in 2024 for the gruesome murders of two women in 2019: Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43. Prosecutors said he strangled Melton in her Cape Coral home, stole her car, and just hours later, lured Ruiz—who had merely asked for directions—into the vehicle. He strangled her, dumped her body, and ran her over several times. One prosecutor said Wilson wanted “to make her look like spaghetti.” In court, Wilson confessed coldly: “It came across my mind to murder, just kill, kill, kill.”
